How to Order
You can search for a specific item using the Product Search box, or you can browse our selection by choosing a category from the left-hand menu or the menu at the top of the page. Can't find what you're looking for? Call or email us and we'll see if we can get it for you!

Click any product's thumbnail image or name to see a larger picture with detailed description and any available options. If you'd like to buy it, first make any option selections (such as accessories or item size) and click the "Add to Cart" button. You'll be taken to your shopping cart where you can update the quantities of any items you've placed in your cart, remove individual items, or empty your cart completely. You can also go to the secure checkout or keep browsing by clicking "Continue Shopping" or by selecting a category from the left-hand menu.

To update the quantity of an item in your cart, change the number in the box next to the item's picture and click the "Update" button. If you'd like to remove an item, simply click the "Remove" button beside the item's price.

You can view your shopping cart or go to the secure checkout at any time by clicking the "View Cart" or "Check Out" links in the left-hand menu.

Checking Out
To place your order for the items you've added to your shopping cart, click "Check Out" from the left-hand menu on any page in our site or the "Secure Checkout" button in your shopping cart. You'll be taken to our secure checkout area, where all information you submit is protected by strong 256-bit encryption.

Review the item(s) listed at the top of the page to make sure quantities and sizes (where applicable) are correct. You'll also see your subtotal. Shipping (and sales tax if you live in Michigan) will be added on the next page.

Fill out each field carefully, making sure to double check for typing errors. If you're paying by credit card, your billing address MUST match the address on your credit card statement exactly.

Next select how fast you'd like to get your order. "Standard" usually ships by Priority Mail or UPS Ground and normally takes 2-10 business days to arrive within the U.S. "Express" usually ships by Express Mail or UPS 3-Day Select and normally takes 1-3 business days to arrive. Large surfboards and Stand Up Paddleboards are available by in-store pickup only; no shipping charge will be calculated for these items regardless of the shipping method you choose and we will contact you when your order has been processed and your large board is ready for pickup from our shop. Kiteboards will ship by the method you have chosen.

"Free Shipping" items will ship by "Standard" service. If you need them faster, we can upgrade you to "Express" service for a reduced charge. (Usually our cost to ship by "Express" minus our cost to ship by "Standard".) Contact us for a quote, or select "Express" when you check out and we will calculate the cost and email you with a quote before we process your order. Be sure to use an email address you check often so that you can approve the quote quickly and we can send your Express shipment without delay.

Since many orders ship by UPS, please select whether your order is going to a residential (house or apartment) or commercial (business) address. This won't affect your shipping charge, but we do need to know this when we ship your order.

If your order is going to the same address as your billing address, check the box and scroll down to the "Submit" button to go to the next page where you'll see your final total and provide your payment info. Otherwise, fill out your shipping information. Make sure to include any apartment or suite numbers. If you are buying a board or large kite, this MUST be a physical address, not a P.O. Box since UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. Box.

The second and final checkout page will appear once you submit your billing and shipping information. The top of the page lists your order, complete with shipping and any applicable sales tax, along with the billing and shipping addresses you provided on the previous page. Double check this information to make sure it's correct and then scroll down to the Payment Information section.

You can pay by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express), Cashier's Check or Money Order, or with a Gift Certificate. Cashier's Checks, Money Orders, and Gift Certificates must be received by us before your order can ship. Credit card orders usually ship within 48 hours for in-stock items.

Once you've completed your payment information, double check it and then click "Submit". An order confirmation screen will be displayed and a copy of your order will be e-mailed to you. When your order ships, you will receive any available tracking information for your package by e-mail.

IMPORTANT: CREDIT CARD ORDERS
If your order total is over $1000 or is any amount which is unusually high for an online/phone order by you, please contact your credit card company and ask them to allow a charge by Mackinaw Kite Co, Inc. This will help prevent any delay in processing your order.

Shipping cost is based on the weight of your order and how far you live from Grand Haven, Michigan. "Free shipping" items will ship via "Standard" service anywhere within the continental U.S. "Free shipping" items shipping outside the continental U.S. or by "Express" service will ship for less than the actual shipping cost (so you'll still get a deal on shipping). We will calculate this charge and email you with a quote before we process your order.

Orders for in-stock items usually ship within 48 hours and are normally processed on weekdays (excluding holidays). If you place your order by noon (EST), there's a good chance it'll even ship that same day. If for some reason your item is not in stock, we will attempt to contact you and will ship your item as soon as it is back in stock. Most orders arrive in 3-5 business days from the time of shipment, though on rare occasions a package may take as long as two weeks to arrive, especially during the busy holiday season.

Returns/Exchanges
Before returning or exchanging an item, please contact us to let us know what you would like to return, whether you would like an exchange, and the reason for the return. We'll reply with any solutions to your situation, which will normally include the option to return or exchange your item as long as it is in the original condition you received it. We have a very customer-oriented attitude when it comes to returns, but due to our low prices and free shipping policy, under certain circumstances we may require a restocking fee.

Bongo International provides its customers with their very own US address (not a P.O. Box). Once you have a US address, you will be able to make purchases with us, as well as other US based online retailers. Bongo receives your purchases and logs them into their online system where you can consolidate them with other orders.

This process saves international customers up to 82% off typical international shipping rates.

  • 6. Choose your domestic shipping method, and continue to the payment page.
  • 7. Use the credit card that you have on file with Bongo as the payment method... No Exceptions.
  • 8. Once you have placed your order, finish your verification process with Bongo.
  • 9. Bongo will take over from here, so communicate directly with them for delivery of your order.

Canadian Orders
You have the option of using Bongo International to ship your order, or you may have us ship you your order directly. If your order is for "free shipping" items, you may save money by using Bongo. Since they are within the continental U.S., we will ship to them for free, and since they have negotiated great rates with their carrier due to volume, they may be able to forward your order on to you more inexpensively than we could ship directly to you.

If we are shipping directly to you, we will contact you with a shipping quote for your approval before your order is shipped. Whenever possible, we will ship your order via the US Postal Service. However, some items (longer kiteboards, for example) are too large to fall within the USPS size limitations and must be shipped via UPS. Sometimes UPS charges a "brokerage fee" upon delivery, in addition to any Customs and Duties fees that have been assessed. All fees are the responsibility of the recipient and cannot be predicted by MACkite in advance. Under no circumstances will we falsify shipping documents. (For example, by declaring the item to be a gift, or of a lesser value than you were charged.)
