How to Order
You can search for a specific item using the Product Search box, or you can browse our selection by choosing a category from the left-hand menu. Can't find what you're looking for? Call or email us and we'll see if we can get it for you!

Click any product's thumbnail image or name to see a larger picture with detailed description and any available options. If you'd like to buy it, first make any option selections (such as accessories or item size) and then click the "Add to Cart" button. You'll be taken to your shopping cart where you can update the quantities of any items you've placed in your cart, remove individual items, or empty your cart completely. You can also go to the secure checkout, or keep browsing by selecting a category from the left-hand menu.

To update the quantity of an item in your cart, change the number in the quantity box and click "Update Quantity". If you'd like to remove an item, simply click "Remove" below the item's quantity box.

You can view your shopping cart or go to the secure checkout at any time by clicking the "View Cart" link above the search box.

Checking Out
To place your order for the items you've added to your shopping cart, click "Proceed to Checkout" button in your shopping cart. You'll be taken to our secure checkout area, where all information you submit is protected by strong 256-bit encryption.

You may choose whether to log in, register, or check out as a guest.

Fill out each field carefully, making sure to double check for typing errors. If you're paying by credit card, your billing address MUST match the address on your credit card statement exactly. We recommend shipping to that address as well to expedite processing of your order. Otherwise, fill out your shipping information. Make sure to include any apartment or suite numbers. If you are buying an oversized item such as a board or large kite, this MUST be a physical address, not a P.O. Box since UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. If your order is of a high value, you may wish to consider providing an address where someone will be available to receive the package since we often require a signature to prevent a valuable order from being left unattended on your doorstep.

Next select how you'd like your order shipped. "Free Shipping" usually ships by UPS Ground or First Class or Priority Mail, and normally takes 2-14 business days to arrive within the U.S. If your order is eligible for for free shipping, you will want to choose this option in order to take advantage of that offer. Call us at 1-800-622-4655 for other shipping methods if you need your order faster, though these will not qualify for free shipping. You may also opt to pick up your order in person at our Grand Haven location. This is always free, regardless of whether the items in your order qualify for free shipping.

If you are buying an oversized item such as a kiteboard, surfboard, or SUP, you MUST choose a UPS shipping method or in-store pickup, since these items cannot be shipped through the Postal Service.

Next you'll see your order with your final total and choose how to pay. Double check this information to make sure it's correct and then proceed to the Payment Details section.

You can pay by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express), Money Order, or with a Gift Certificate. Money Orders must be received by us before your order can ship. Credit card orders usually ship within 48 hours, and often the same day, for in-stock items.

Once you've completed your payment information, double check it and then click "Pay for Order". An order confirmation screen will be displayed and a copy of your order will be e-mailed to you. When your order ships, you will receive any available tracking information for your package by e-mail. If you didn't receive your order confirmation email, check your Junk Mail folder. If it isn't there either, contact us to be sure we have your correct email address.

IMPORTANT: CREDIT CARD ORDERS
If your order total is over $1000 or is any amount which is unusually high for an online/mail order by you, you may need to contact your credit card company and ask them to allow a charge by Mackinaw Kite Co. if you are having trouble submitting your order.

Shipping cost is based on the weight of your order and how far you live from Grand Haven, Michigan. "Free shipping" items will ship anywhere within the continental U.S. Most new kiteboarding kites and boards will qualify for free standard shipping. (*Demo and clearance items may be excluded.)

Orders for in-stock items usually ship within 48 hours and are normally processed on weekdays (excluding holidays). If you place your order by 3pm (EST), there's a good chance it'll even ship that same day. If for some reason your item is not in stock, we will attempt to contact you and will ship your item as soon as it is back in stock. Most orders arrive in 3-5 business days from the time of shipment, though on rare occasions a package may take as long as two weeks to arrive, especially during the busy holiday season.

Returns/Exchanges
Before returning or exchanging an item, please contact us to let us know what you would like to return, whether you would like an exchange, and the reason for the return. We'll reply with any solutions to your situation, which will normally include the option to return or exchange your item as long as it is in the original condition you received it. We have a very customer-oriented attitude when it comes to returns, but due to our low prices and free shipping policy, under certain circumstances we may require a restocking fee.

Canadian Orders
You have the option of using Bongo International to ship your order, or you may have us ship you your order directly. If your order is for "free shipping" items, you may save money by using Bongo. Since they are within the continental U.S., we will ship to them for free, and since they have negotiated great rates with their carrier due to volume, they may be able to forward your order on to you more inexpensively than we could ship directly to you.

Whenever possible, we will ship your order via the US Postal Service. However, some items (longer kiteboards, for example) are too large to fall within the USPS size limitations and must be shipped via UPS. Sometimes UPS charges a "brokerage fee" upon delivery, in addition to any Customs and Duties fees that have been assessed. All fees are the responsibility of the recipient and cannot be predicted by MACkite in advance. Under no circumstances will we falsify shipping documents. (For example, by declaring the item to be a gift, or of a lesser value than you were charged.)
