Helmets are a great way to keep your noggin warm while preventing head injuries when you crash. For winter sports, skiing and snowboarding, there are specific helmets that are designed for cold weather activities. You'll feel better riding when you're free from wondering whether or not your helmet will protect you.
So, what's the perfect fit for your helmet? While there are many things to consider, the best thing to do is measure your head with a soft tape measure (put down that industrial one, boys). If you don't have a soft measure, you can also use a piece of string, wrap it around your head, and measure the string. Be sure to measure your head in centimeters!
After you've measured and purchased your helmet, you'll want to make sure you try it on before you head out on the slopes. You should feel a snug fit all the way around your head - you do not want any excess space between your noggin' and the helmet. Another good way to test your helmet is to give it a good shake. If you feel it separate from your head, chances are it's too big.
