2018 Slingshot Turbine Kiteboarding Kite
What Slingshot has to say about the 2018 Turbine
First and foremost, the Turbine is a high-powered shape with more pull per size than any other kite in our lineup. Steering speed is on the slow side (which is typical of all larger kites), but with power and efficiency on the upside, you get the same amount of pull from a smaller kite, which in turn translates to faster steering. The high aspect ratio performs like a wing in the air- jumps are long and lofty, loops are slow and deep through the window, pull is steady and powerful and the upwind drive and low-end efficiency is as good as you can get before transitioning to a foil kite.
The Turbine is in a class of its own and can’t really be compared to any other kite. With a super high aspect ratio, this is about as close to a foil kite as you can get in a LEI format. We coined the term “throw it don’t mow it” with the Turbine years ago, and for good reason. With most large light wind kites, simply getting out on the water about all they’re good for. The Turbine is a different experience altogether.
For lighter wind, the Turbine is a session saver for riders of all levels. As you go down in size and up in wind speed, the Turbine’s power and efficiency translate to an advanced freeride kite with long, loft airs, aggressive upwind drive and the pull of a tank fueled by RedBull. Whether you’re in it for a mellow cruise in a light ocean breeze or you’re an experienced kiter looking for a completely different flying experience, the Turbine will not disappoint.

Turbine bridle: The Turbine features a five-point cascading bridle and optimized leading edge and strut design. This configuration is engineered to give the Turbine stability and structure across a huge range of available sizes and provide easy relaunch in all wind conditions.
Split Strut: Invented by Slingshot and adopted as the industry gold standard in canopy construction, Split Strut design integrates the kite’s struts into the structure of the canopy. This results a stronger, more stable and more durable canopy. SplitStrut enhances power under heavy load and creates superior efficiency and rigidity in the overall frame.
One-Pump: Slingshot patented the One-Pump system years ago, and today the innovation can be found on almost every kite on the market. The One Pump Speed System makes inflating your kite quick and easy; simply attach your hose and pump your entire kite from one convenient valve. Deflating is just as easy. This might not seem like a big deal, but if you’ve ever had to inflate and deflate your leading edge and all your struts individually, you know how nice it really is.
Customize Your Ride: The Turbine features multiple attachment points at the kite- both on the leading and trailing edge- that allow riders to fine-tune the kite’s handling and performances based on their riding style and the conditions of a particular session. This tuning is done quickly and easily and makes a big impact on the kite’s overall performance; you can choose different settings for boosting big, for unhooked freestyle, for user-friendly freeride or for riding waves, to name a few.

The Slingshot Compstick bar with the Sentinel system features everything you enjoyed about the classic Compstick, with an above-the-bar depower system. Don't be confused by the synonymous names - the two Slingshot bar offerings are clearly differentiated by the location of the depower system and an updated safety release system. If you enjoy more of an "out of the way" setup, the Sentinel is the bar for you.
